In principle, you can transfer your work permit between employers. There is a section for doing so in the work permit.

I believe you add another employer to it, and then remove the old employer.

If you qualify for the STV you probably qualify for the multiple entry tourist visa. But you have to do border runs and extensions. At least there’s no insurance requirement aside from Thailand pass.

make sure to let the bank know you have a new passport too. You will have to bring both of them.

If they don’t provide one, and the last place you stayed was in the same province AND you got a printed copy of your TM30 you can just use your old one if it comes up.

Before they do the extension you might have to file a TM30 in Phuket if you go back.

If you get an under consideration stamp ask them if you can send someone else to get the final stamp.

Or...you can skip all those money deposits and seasoning funds, etc and just get a new multiple entry tourist visa each year, taking a trip to Cambodia or Vietnam or Laos or something once during your stay in Thailand.

What are the potential issues for an American traveling to the Philippines and returning to Thailand?

As long as you satisfy Thailand Pass requirements and don’t get caught in the crackdown on people returning who previously had COVID extensions.

Bring your ticket to show immigration when you return in case there are unforeseen issues.

Regarding the Philippines I don’t know anything about their requirements.
