Hi all, question about Non O Visa based on Thai child and the 40k monthly income method. If bank transfers done by wise with international transfer is this sufficient? I'm not employed in Thailand so no national income. Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around the requirements for obtaining a Non O Visa in Thailand based on being a parent to a Thai child and the associated 40,000 baht monthly income through bank transfers. It is confirmed that international transfers of at least 40,000 baht per month for the previous 12 months are necessary for the application. There are some suggestions on using Wise for these transfers, noting the importance of selecting the correct reason for the transfer to ensure it is recorded as an international transaction.

I found have that when using Wise to transfer to Bangkok Bank and I select the reason as "long term stay in Thailand" it codes as an international transfer. If you select another reason or use a different bank then maybe not. It's worth doing some test transfers to see how they code, depending on what bank you have. The code should show up in your passbook.

I usually use general monthly living expenses as reason. My income is in EUR though, maybe that's why it's an international transfer?

The CODING of the international transfer is critical to getting it recognized by the Thai bank and Thai immigration.

yes, thanks for info. Like I said, it shows up as an international transfer in my BKK banking app. Still have to see if it shows up as an international transfer on the bank statement.

ask your Thai bank for the printout of the prior 12 months of international transfer to your Thai bank account. The bank may need your request...as it may take 6 business days for them to prepare for you.

Didn't get my bank statement yet, but in my Bangkok bank app it shows up as an international bank transfer.

Suggest that you ask your local Thai immigration office for their requirements for the Visa you are seeking.

Here's a graphic of the requirements commonly found.

YES .. The international transfer of 40,000 Thai baht or more monthly for the 12 months PRIOR to your application for the Non O Visa as parent of a Thai child is required.
