* If my work permit is registered in Surat Thani, can I work in other provinces in Thailand?
* If my work permit expired week ago, can I still renew with some penalty, or need to make new one?
Thank you for any help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the conditions for working in provinces outside the one where their work permit is registered (Surat Thani) and whether they can renew an expired work permit with penalties. Several commenters clarify that a work permit is tied to the company and specific locations, requiring formal addition of new work locations if branching out. Regarding the expired work permit, it is emphasized that working is not permissible until a new work permit is obtained, and there is no lenience in renewing an expired one according to regulations.
right. That's just great. Thank you very much for the information.๐

Yes and that is based on working in Thailand which you are not allowed to do for a week as your Work Permit is expired, you need to organize quickly a new work permit or cancel this stay based on working.
So if you look into your passport, you will see a big stamp with in line 2: Extension of Stay permitted up to xx/xx/xx

You can work in other provinces as long as your company has a bonafide connection in that province. So, if your company is registered in Phang Nga, you can work in Phuket if your Phuket branch is added to your DbD registration. Talk to your accountant and they can sort it. As for the second part of your question, then no. There is no leniency. You either have a wp or you don't, again, talk to your accountant about this.

If you are on an Extension of Stay, be aware that now the Work Permit is expired you need to cancel this Extension of Stay because you are not longer working in Thailand.

No For the first one. But You can ask your primary employer to add other new workplaces to your work permit
Technically, different branches have to be added to your work permit as your working places.

Your work permit is tied to your job so you can't change jobs without getting the new employer added to the work permit. If your work permit has expired you can't work, plus if you're on an extension of your visa you're supposed to cancel this when you stop work

NO, you can only work for the company mentioned in the work permit and in the areas mentioned in de description of labor.
NO, with a expired work permit you are not allowed to work and have to apply for a new year but depending on leniency of the Ministry Of Labor where this work permit is issued.
