Why was I stamped in only until August 10th instead of my visa's expiration date, and do I need to check in with Udon Thani immigration?

I hold a non oa retirement visa with extension valid until 17 Dec 2022. I paid for a single re-entry permit. I just returned from Laos and they stamped me in only until 10 Aug 2022. Is this correct?

Also, do I need to check in with Udon thani immigration?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about receiving a shorter stay permit after returning to Thailand from Laos with a Non-O retirement visa, which should have allowed for a stay until December 17, 2022. Responses suggested they need to return to the border for a correction and highlighted the importance of checking stamp dates upon entry. Additional comments discussed the TM6 form's relevance to the re-entry process.

Putting the re-entry permit number on the entry portion of the TM6 reminds them not to just give you a visa waiver stamp. At least that has been my experience.

Agreed, but I did read recently that they'd stopped issuing/needing TM6.. or was that only for flights?? Anyone?
Ellie *******
@Steve ********
, TM6 is exempt for air travel only

Thanks for confirming

If you are near the border GO BACK and get the stamp corrected to Dec 17th 2022.

I don't think it can be done at your regular immigration office, but it might be able to be), you'd have to contact them and see

keep in mind until you do get that stamp corrected, you area only allowed here until Aug 10 ๐Ÿ˜•

It is my first time using the process and didn't know what to expect.

and while you were at passport control at the Nong Khai Border and saw that you got only a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp rather than getting stamped back in on the valid re-entry permit why didn't you say anything to them? ๐Ÿ˜•
