What are the requirements and appropriate forms for a 1-year visa extension based on marriage to a Thai national?

Hi, I am preparing to apply for a 1-year visa extension based on my marriage with a Thai national. Here are my questions: Really appreciate if someone could answer them for me:

1. For the bank statement document, do I need to go to the bank to ask for it? Or I can just print out the bank e-statement myself? I already requested the bank statement and it was sent out to my email box but I am not sure if that is enough?

1. On the immigration office website, it says, "In the case of marriage to a Thai woman, the alien husband must earn an average annual income

of no less than Baht 40,000 per month or must have no less than Baht 400,000 in a bank account in

Thailand for the past two months to cover expenses for one year." -- In my case, I am a foreign female married a Thai husband, does that mean this requirement actually doesn't fit me?

1. I am checking all the application forms on the government website but I am still not sure which one I should choose for 1-year visa extension based on spouse identity. Does anyone know which form no. should I choose? [members only]/

Thank you so much for the help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a 1-year visa extension based on marriage to a Thai national and has several questions. First, they inquire about the validity of an emailed bank statement for documentation. Responses indicate that a printed e-statement is sufficient. Second, they seek clarification on financial requirements, learning that as a foreign woman married to a Thai man, they are exempt from these financial requirements. Lastly, they ask about the correct application form, and it is confirmed that the form to use is the TM.7 (Application for Extension of Temporary Stay in the Kingdom).

I think there may be requirements for your Thai husband regarding his employment or income. They will tell him.

Questions are:

- Is this a foreign woman married to a Thai man? Or Foreign male married to a Thai female?

- This foreigner is already on the first 90 days stamp for Non-O based on a spouse to a Thai national? (visa from embassy/consulate or in-country visa from immigration office)

You are referring to the requirement for an in-county Non-O visa for 90 days, not for a 1-year extension based on being married to a Thai.

You need to go to the Chaengwattana office to get the requirement for a 1-year extension. Those requirements documents are each office-specific and you need the "latest" one, not the one on the website.

Here is just a piece of general information for a 1-year extension just FYI. Get the latest one in advance of you are applying for a visa or extension.

1. check with your local immigration office which version is accepted.

2. depends on which of you are applying for, a visa or extension. 2 months of seasoning is required for a 1-year extension based on being married to a Thai female.

3. See the attached sheet about the form. Your local immigration office may have its own forms.

thank you so much. Yes I am a US female married to a Thai husband. I am in the country with my 90 days non-o visa now and looking for 1 year extension. Though I am not sure about whether I should provide financial required doc, I still set up the bank account and wired in 40k baht and it just reached 60 days requirement today so I think I am good to go. It’s just there is only 12 days left on my visa stamp so I am a little bit worried that it’s too short notice for the immigration office since I read all the info here says that I should apply for it 15 days before the visa expires…

you've got quite a few of your wires crossed, 😕

- the 15 days or more left on your current stamp is to apply for a Non-O visa at the immigration office NOT anything to do with an extension

- you as a foreign female married to a thai male are NOT required to show proof of any funds when you get your Non-O visa OR when you get your year extension

Go to your immigration office (with your thai husband) get the print out of the documents required so you can apply for a yearly extension

You can do it ANY time now, (in fact you could have done it at most offices any time you had 30 days or less left on your 90 day Non-O stamp)

DO NOT run your 90 day stamp down to no days left because if you don't have all the documents you don't get the extension and run on overstay 🙁

Did you read my comment and the graphic attached?

- you are referring to different information on the immigration website

- There is no financial requirement for a foreign female for 1-year extension based on being a spouse to a Thai male

- you can apply for 1-year extension until the very last day of your current stamp

1. As you do not need to present money or income, a printed bank statement from e-mail should be enough.

2. Correct, as foreign woman married to Thai man you do not need to meet the financial requirements.

3. The form: APPLICATION FOR EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY STAY IN THE KINGDOM (TM.7)
