Thanks for your information! What I didn't like was the hotel staff acting as immigration officers. If I was on overstay would they have checked us in then telephoned the IO to come and arrest me in my room?

I make hotel bookings in my Thai Mrs name and ask her to physically check us in upon arrival. Never asked for my details until went to Phuket last September. The hotel receptionist specifically asked for my passport and, together with another staff member, checked every page and discussed my extension stamp between themselves.

Thanks for your information Bill and Peter! A couple of weeks ago I and my Thai Mrs checked into a Phuket hotel. I had made the booking online in my wife's name. However, the desk asked for her ID and my passport. Two staff examined every page of my passport then discussed the visa (used) and extension stamps. OK I understand they have to report our checking in, but what would they have done if my stamps had expired?

Can confirm Khon Kaen give you a new 90 day reporting date from the date of your extension. Four weeks ago the officer did that for me without me asking.
