Sorry to hear it, but I understand. They don't want people living here without a proper visa, and it seriously appears that way when you are planning to spend 180 days here over say a 200 day period. Try doing that being a "tourist" in the US or pretty much any European country and see what happens. If you are going to visit that much, just get the proper visa.
