Good day! Tried to search Google first, so be kind …

Please help me with the confusion - retirement visa for Thailand at the age of 50. Do I need to have some monthly income (1850 USD per Google)? Obviously, at 50 years old I won’t be collecting my social security yet … is there a way to get retirement visa based on bank accounts balance or any trick around? Can I pay myself that darn 1850USD each month?

I have funds (sold all the assets in US) but not at retirement age yet

Thanks for your advice

Ps. Not 50 yet, not for a long while BUT already looking into my options outside of the US and EU

Hi everyone,

I have a Non-O visa (Thai spouse) and am looking to extend it for another year. I have a working permit so originally tried opting in through a Thai employer, and I’ve almost completed all the documents. But, I don’t have any previous tax payment records in the country yet since I only started paying taxes here this year. These records should be available next year.

Now I've read the other two options: by pension as salary, and by securing a deposit of money sitting in a Thai bank account for '2 months'

I have a few questions:

1. Regarding the income certificate that meets the required amount, under which category does this fall? I already have the certificate (in Thai).

2. Do I still need to visit the embassy for this process, or are there additional documents I need to provide?

Lastly, does anyone have a reliable resource or checklist for these documents?

When I called Nakhon Pathom immigration office, they told me that without recent tax payments, I might need to leave the country and re-enter with a Non-B visa, which I think doesn’t seem to make sense in my case with Non-O visa. Any advice? Thank you.

Hi everyone,

I was previously on a marriage visa and currently on a visa exempt entry that's been extended (30+30 days). I'm trying to get back on the marriage visa, but the 400k baht requirement has been a bit of an obstacle. From my understanding, the 400k baht needs to be in my account for a consecutive 60 days if I wish to apply for the visa at Bangkok.

I will have the 400k baht in my account shortly after my current extension stamp expires. This means I'm going to need a bridge for the next 3 months as I need about a week after my current expiration to have the money ready and then another 60 consecutive days of the money being in my account.

My original plan was to do a 60-day family extension, but that's no longer enough. My new plan is to do a short weekend trip to Kuala Lumpur with my wife at the end of the current extension and fly back in to receive 60+30 days (Dutch passport holder, I assume the new 60 day policy is also for fly-ins).

I'm just here to double-check if all of that looks good2go.. and worst case scenario, if I run into time constraints, I could realistically slap an extra 60 days onto that 60+30 day through a Family Extension based on spouse, correct?

Thanks!!

Hello and thanks for the advice. Has anyone applied for the retirement visa using the certificate of income of not less than 65,000 baht a month? Is it true that one has to get the affidavit (income letter) from the US Embassy ONLY in the US before traveling to Thailand?

If one is depositing 800,00 baht into a Thai Bank (for retirement visa), it can be done while in Thailand without the US authenticating income?

Just trying to see which one works best for me. Thanks for advice.

Hello everybody, I am interested in the retirement O visa.

I understand the basic requirements.

What I’m not clear on is how much I needed to deposit in baht if my VA disability is only $1214 a month

Do I need to make up the difference in cash deposit for one month, or 12 months?

put another way I need 65,000 baht equivalent government money or equivalent per month. I’m several hundred dollars short of that.

How much would I need to deposit in order to satisfy the O visa requirement?
