You can. It's not impossible. But it isn't easy, either, on the Thai side. And there are some logistical problems, as one of the main conditions to be taxed here is to remit funds, but they're NOT allowing DTVers to open Thai bank accounts. Sure there might be ways to remit without having an own bank account, but not having it makes everything more complicated if you want to pay taxes for the remitted money.

You couldn't return to Thailand while the DTV was pending. It's a cause for rejection. Now you lost that money. Can apply again, tho, but don't do the same of leaving while it is pending.

not always. Each country has different tax rules. In my home country (Korea), yes, if you work for a company established within Korea and get paid every single month, then you must always pay taxes in Korea for that income, whether you physically stay there or not. But in other countries, you don't pay tax if you don't physically stay there for over a certain period, even if you get income from there.

I don't think the OP is working for a Thai registered company. I mean, that's not what he said.

As everybody else does: with one's bank account from one's own country 🤷🏻

This has nothing to do with Thailand, and all to do with your country company. I work remotely, and my company has zero problem in paying my monthly salary wherever in the world I might be (they deposit it to my home country bank account, of course). I've heard that is unheard of for American companies, due to to "tax matters"? So, ask your company.

Been here already for slightly over a year.

It depends. Where will you apply from? What embassy?

we're allowed to work on the DTV. That's why we got the visa on the first place. I also work full-time, fixed hours. And again, that's the basis why I got my DTV approved by the embassy.
