Own company / Low turnover / Proof

Worcation: I have my own company, but it has not been operational for long. I am confident that my business will generate more profit soon, but so far turnover has been low.

I know that some embassies / consulates want to see a monthly salary, payslips, etc. In my case, this would not be applicable anyway, because I take dividends from my company instead of a monthly salary, e.g. one large dividend payment in the end of the year. I believe this is NOT going to be a problem, because, of course, many company directors simply live on dividends instead of monthly salaries.

The problem is that - as of now - turnover has been low. Which embassy or consulate has been happy to accept the following documents as sufficient proof for your remote work WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE TOTAL TURNOVER?

- Invoices

- Proof of incoming payments from clients (I could, for example, submit a couple of invoices AND proof of their payment)

- Email conversations with clients

- Portfolio / Website / LinkedIn Profile

- Samples of work

- Supplier contracts

- Company registration documents

I have ALL of the above and everything else that demonstrates that my company is registered, legit and operational, but I am worried that certain embassies will be focused on the TOTAL turnover. That is why I am looking for an embassy / consulate that has approved DTV’s BASED ON MORE RANDOM, INCOHERENT EVIDENCE without checking overall turnover.

PS: I am determined to go for workation, even though soft power might sound like the easier option in my case.

Hello, I applied for DTV workation visa yesterday at HCMC in Vietnam, I got an email today they requested more documents. Of course they say provide everything in english, but i sent my bankstatement in german language (my bank is in Austria) because there is almost no text on it and they can see the amount of money for the last 6 months and they requested english statement. The problem is I called my bank and they cant do it in english. Anybody had this problem before? They asked for all of my passport page and my CV and details about my current work, this is clear what they want. The other problem is this:

Other request documents: Please provide a business registration document showing the company name, the name of the legal representative, and a company profile that includes details about its history, vision, mission, products, achievements, and a link to your company’s website.

I already linked my company website in the first documents and sent the business registration documents (hungarian and english). Im a sole proprietor in hungary and the company name is my name. I dont have any business name, its My Name egyéni vállalkozó (sole proprietor). And what they mean about company profile, what should i send for them?

Hi everyone,

I applied as a digital nomad at the embassy in Vienna. I make iphone apps, and I have a US-based company. The latest document request is "The company registration documents were not issued by the Austrian government. Therefore, you will need to have these documents certified by the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. This certification is required to verify the existence of your company."

Now this would take months to get (shipping documents from Austria to legalize the certificate of company formation at a state level, federal level, then by the embassy in Washington). Does anybody have experience with this?

Hi All, I am currently in Ho Chi Minh looking at apply for my DTV. Looking at the required documents it seems very straight forward. Regarding the employment status, I own my own company. I wanted to ask, would a statement on company letter head confirming my status as director suffice or would it be better to show company registration documents, tax returns, profit and loss statements etc.? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Hello! Has anyone here successfully applied for the DTV visa as a business owner with a company incorporated outside Thailand?

I'm wondering what documents you used to prove your company's legitimacy and financial activity. My company is in its first year, so I don't have any filed tax returns yet - only one year of business bank statements showing cash flow.

Did the consulate accept management accounts, or do they require statutory accounts that have been filed with your country's registry?

Any insights would be really helpful!

For business owners who applied for DTV:

Is it true that the employment contract + the company's registration have to be "authenticated by the embassy of the country where the company is located"?

I found this info in some official PDF checklist, but consulates/embassies never mention it. Wanted to know before I start the application.

I got my DTV 🥳🥳🥳

I wanted to share my experience in detail to help others.

I got a Workation DTV visa from Ho Chi Minh. If you go to Vietnam to apply be aware you need to apply to the embassy based on where you stay in Vietnam. I’ve attached the list as this is only available when you first apply.

My situation is a bit complicated as I have a few companies so I only told them about the two relevant ones. One I used as a sponsor that has high reserves and the other I pay myself a salary from. One mistake I made was thinking the 500,000 baht should be in the sponsors bank account. It must be in your personal account but when I got asked to evidence this in the additional documents they requested they accepted that I had transferred the money on the day. I wrote an explanation with my bank statement and it was fine.

One thing that makes the application hard is that the evidence for each request must be one single PDF. I used I love PDF to merge and compress my documents which worked brilliantly.

I wrote a very comprehensive document on my businesses with pictures, links and screenshots to really show that they are legitimate. I also merged the company registration document and accounts to show the business is bina fide. I still got asked to provide a Company overview showing details about its history, vision, mission, products, and achievements. I did this for both companies along with evidence of registration, directors etc.

I also got asked for:

Pictures of every page of my passport

My personal bank account 6 month statements

So put in as much as possible.

Also book somewhere online where so you can provide it as evidence of being in Vietnam and also your flight.

Good luck everyone it's still possible just put everything together maticulously.
