How can I apply for a DTV visa as a German citizen without a permanent address?

Hello,

I am a German citizen but I don't have a German residency or any other permanent address.

I am a perpetual traveller.

What can I do in this case to get the DTV as it requires the proof of a location/address?

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through a similar situation and managed to get the DTV approved without having an official residence.

Thanks a lot!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is a German citizen who does not have any permanent address and seeks advice on how to apply for the DTV visa, which requires proof of a location. Community members suggest that applying from a temporary location such as a hotel or Airbnb may suffice, and emphasize the importance of proving physical presence in the country where the application is submitted. Recommendations also include checking different countries' rules for applying and contacting others with similar experiences for more insights.

You can apply from anywhere except Thailand. The local embassy with jurisdiction over your location will simply request proof of you being in that jurisdiction/country/state/province such as a visa and or entry stamp and or hotel booking.

not everywhere. Most embassies require residency...

rather the emphasis on "some embassies". . . mainly those in the passport holders country will not allow an application if he has no residency. In countries outside of Thailand the applicant just needs a proof that he has entered the country and is currently staying there

Nongnuch Kamdee Maybe you should say SE countries outside Thailand don;t need residency, like Maksym Koretskyi is telling most embassies require tempory or permanent residency.

They are only asking you to prove you are physically inside the country from which you are presently applying.

when author will submit his application in Europe and lost 400 eur, will pay him for your wrong advise?)

Very clever. However, rather than attack myself only you should be addressing your acidic question to the group as a whole. I always advise that if any application is cancelled or rejected without reason being stated the applicant should request a chargeback by their bank/credit card company. If the consulate can’t (or won’t) supply an acceptable reason, or fail to respond within 30 days the applicant will get their money back. But you would already have known that wouldn’t you?

@Christopher **********
What chargeback if it is clearly stated that proof is residency permit in most countries, except few in Asia that accept only temporary stay?

@Maksym **********
Consulates can (and do) state whatever garbage suits them. It is a case of what is reasonable in real life situations that is the determining factor when a customer requests a chargeback. A citizen has permanent right of abode in his own country. Common sense must apply. As already advised, why not apply in a country that only requires temporary physical presence during the application process?

Fill like speak with ai, how all this related to initial theme?

"The e-Visa applicants must color scan the bio-data page of their passports, national ID card, and proof of legal residence in Germany, and upload all the said documents into the e-Visa account. Applicants of non-EU citizenship must upload both sides of the color scanned valid residence card, issued by the relevant German authorities"

Same in other eu countries. This is NOT what you wrote, "prove you are physically inside".

Someone else already advised that application can be made from anywhere except Thailand. Why apply to Germany which, unlike other countries, requires proof of legal residence? Being a German citizen surely means the applicant possesses a National Identity Card? Assuming so, why not state temporarily lodging with parents, relatives or friends etc? Take a photo with a recognisable background, the applicant holding a newspaper with todays date?
Maksym ***********
@Christopher **********
and again you speak about other things, except your initial message where you said "They are only asking you to prove you are physically inside the country from which you are presently applying." And what was wrong. Why you writing all this to me?
Christopher ***********
@Maksym **********
Two choices; Apply to Germany and find a way to prove residence or apply to a different country that doesn’t require proof of residence. Other people have also offered their help and advice.

Proof of where you are right now. Hotel /airbnb booking?

It depends. Where will you apply from? What embassy?
