Hello guys,
I'm from France and I want to move to Thailand next year.
I can ask for DTV Visa but I have a question dor my fellow frenchs or even belgians here.
With a DTV Visa in Thailand, can I change my tax residence and become taxed in Thailand only ?
It's very important. For those (French, belgian, german etc.) who live in Thailand with a DTV, please answer me guys.
Ps : I work online so I DON'T have any revenue from France directly like real estate or physical business.
Thank you
TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether one can change tax residence to Thailand while holding a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV). It has been noted that spending more than 180 days in Thailand can lead to being classified as a tax resident. However, it's intricate as maintaining tax obligations in the home country (like France or Belgium) may still apply, especially if income originates from there. Complications arise with banking, as not being able to open a local account makes tax payments more challenging. It's advised to consult an accountant for personalized guidance.
