Hello guys,
I'm from France and I want to move to Thailand next year.
I can ask for DTV Visa but I have a question dor my fellow frenchs or even belgians here.
With a DTV Visa in Thailand, can I change my tax residence and become taxed in Thailand only ?
It's very important. For those (French, belgian, german etc.) who live in Thailand with a DTV, please answer me guys.
Ps : I work online so I DON'T have any revenue from France directly like real estate or physical business.
Thank you
TLDR : Answer Summary
The question seeks clarity on whether one can become solely a tax resident in Thailand while holding a DTV Visa, particularly for individuals from France or Belgium. Responses emphasize that to change tax residency, one must spend over 180 days in Thailand. However, being taxed by one's home country (like France) on income generated there can complicate matters. Additionally, the difficulty of opening a Thai bank account for those on a DTV Visa and its implications on remitting funds for tax purposes are highlighted.
