For people who are currently doing remote work on the DTV visa for 6+ months already, are you salaried, do you freelance or did you register your own company in Thailand?
I'm currently salaried at a Dutch company and wondering if I can keep doing remote work on a salaried basis even if I want to move to Thailand semi-long term (3-5 years). Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the ability to work remotely while holding a DTV visa in Thailand. Users confirm that immigration is primarily concerned with receiving a letter from the employer allowing remote work, and that the specifics of payment methods (salaried, freelance, or business registration) don't seem to affect the visa status. Participants share their experiences working for companies based in their home countries while living in Thailand.
This has nothing to do with Thailand, and all to do with your country company. I work remotely, and my company has zero problem in paying my monthly salary wherever in the world I might be (they deposit it to my home country bank account, of course). I've heard that is unheard of for American companies, due to to "tax matters"? So, ask your company.
I’ve been employed in the Netherlands by the same employer for 4,5 years, have had the DTV for a year now. Have been in Thailand for the majority of the time since October 2024 but have taken shorter trips to other countries as well. Why would it be a problem to do remote work on a salaried basis? That’s exactly the purpose of the DTV
How ever the remote company pays you is of no concern to immigration, only that you are getting paid to work remotely, and the company gave you a written letter stating that you can work remotely.
