I just asked for the 10% extra. Western Union cash pickup was what they sent. So WU was a gouging pig.

I don't share any banking details internationally. That's never going to happen

2 months ago . Friend sent $$$ , WU office paid out 10% shy. I have the docs . Gave 32.37 baht on the dollar delivered.

Carry as much CASH as you feel comfortable with. This is the best way to reduce exchange costs.

I find the larger the sum , the smaller the cost by percentage using WISE.

I've never done that. Just deposit cash. It can't be transferred from a local source. Keep your receipts of currency exchange .. never been asked for these myself.. Some offices may ask. Depends on where you are applying , maybe.. I've never done a transfer, ever , in 23 years.
