I have applied for NON-O marriage Visa. Had home inspection complete , and now I need to go to immigration on November 8 for the final stamp..

?? Can I leave and return to the country during the period before Nov 8 ?

?? Can I be absent from country on Nov 8 and return on Nov 18 ,?? Then stamp ?

I just don't know the Chiang Mai rules wrong this.

Any help is always appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The community advises against leaving Thailand before your scheduled immigration appointment on November 8 for your NON-O marriage visa extension, as departing may require you to restart the application process. It's important to attend your appointment on the specified date. Consider discussing any travel plans directly with immigration to see if they can accommodate changes, but be aware that flexibility is at their discretion. Users clarified the distinction between the visa and the extension process, emphasizing that the application is for an extension of stay based on marriage.

you have NOT applied for a "Non-O-Marriage visa". You have applied for the "1-year extension of the stay permit based on marriage to a Thai wife". The stay permit you received when entering using the visa. The visa itself expired and became "used" upon entry. Immigration calls it "visa extension" however they don't extend any visa

If they told you to come back on the 8th, why would you consider going on the 18,th?

so I can travel ..

unfortunately it doesn't work that way. You can try and see if Immigration will change the date, if not then you should be there on the 8th.

This might sound like a dumb question but did you consider asking the staff at the immigration office if you could delay getting your extension stamp until the 18th?

I thought I would throw it out here for advice. Immigration office is a long drive to ask a question .. Advice here has always been good.

People will give answers based on knowledge, experience and hearsay of different immigration offices. It's important to understand that just about every immigration office operates their own policies (within the legal structure) and advice from your office has more substance than advice from a Facebook group.

but they are the only ones that can give you a definitive answer, all you'll get here are opinions (ok, some people's opinions are better than others)

What
@Bra****
said. However if you must leave and can’t get back in time, go and speak to your immigration office and tell them the reasons. They may be willing to be flexible a bit. But it’s up to them and at least you’d have a definitive answer.

best to remain in the country for the under consideration period, get your yearly stamp then travel, but make sure you have a re-entry permit

You should not leave during your under consideration period or you may need to restart the entire process. You must return on the date they gave you. The time to ask for a different date was when you were applying.
