its a mistake by them it should read exempt see things like this all the time on menu's signs etc English is not their first language.

yes you are suposed to keep your boarding pass for imigration

Best advice is go to the imigration office you will be applying at and find out what they require its a pretty simple process

yep I did my own but I already had a bank account

not really i came in on a 60 day exempt and had no problem getting my visa but I already had a bank account

Shouldn't have any trouble just go to the imigration office and ask them what paperwork they require its how I did mine.
