it may mean Non-Imm RE-tirement. The Multi or Single entries are normally on a separate stamp. My guess, he has an extension of stay based on retirement because it is exactly the one year one gets

you can do the "One Year Extension of Stay based on Retirement" ANYTIME during your 365 days permitted stay, IF you have the minimum of 800,000 THB deposited on a thai bank in your name for a minimum of two months before application. . . ANYTIME means YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT until 3 months left on your permitted to stay stamp. You are free to choose the date wisely and fitting your travelling plans. The date you apply for the extension will be the same date for all future yearly applications for an extension, so normally people choose the date carefully, with their travelling plans in mind. For example my extension is due on Januray 4th . . a date on which I am in Thailand EVERY year FOR SURE. On the contrary, I would not want to put the date for an application for the next extension into the summertime, as I won't be in Thailand between May and September. Of course you can use a Non-Imm-O/A until the last extent, giving you almost 2 years, but if you happen to apply for an extension in July, this will remain to be your date for all your future yearly extensions

in regard to your original question which seemingly did not get any response: "Now I am applying for the retirement one once I am in the country. Do I need to get a medical report or police clearance certificate to apply?" You need both the medical report and the police clearance when you apply for the Non-Imm Visa on a consulate or embassy of Thailand in your home country. You do not need medical and police report again when applying for an "Extension of Stay Permit based on Retirement" (often called "retirement visa") inside Thailand. Some immigrations aks for the medical report from a Thai doctor when applying for a repeated extension of stay. This medical report can be easily had from a thai doctor for 100-200 THB

officially there is no limit to back-to-back 30 days exempt entries, but if they culminate in your passport, there will come the day when an immigration officers will object. This would be your first exempt entry this year,so I do not think that your 28-day stay in August will be affected by your previous METV stay, as this was no exempt entry but a holiday on a regular visa. Get the financials (20,000 THB in cash or equivalent currency) and the flight ticket out within the 30 days, and a proof of accomodation, just in case they ask. And you will be fine

Khun Kurt the Non-O-M or the Non-O/A Longstay also cost 175 Euro fee. There is no difference to the fee payable for a Multi Entry Tourist Visa. With all three visa, he can get close to 9 months of stay in Thailand. However the requirements for the Non-Imm- O and -O/A are much higher and one has to be 50 years old. For the Multi Entry Tourist Visa, the age is not relevant

Khun Kurt there is a mistake in the first photo (Visa Type O) in the text. They speak about a Non-Imm-O for retirees and it says that they have to be 55 years old. This is wrong. The age limit is 50. I would be VERY careful in trusting these texts. I always stick to the offical website of the consulate or the embassy

with a SETV you will get 60 days upon first entry, no re-entry included. If you leave Thailand before the end of the 60-day permitted period, you can re-enter without any extra visa fees on a 30-day Visa Exempt if you are national of a country elegible for Visa Exempt. In case you are not, your option is to extend the 60 days with 30 more days on any immigration inside Thailand for 1900 THB. And the option described above is, you can buy a re-entry permit for 1000 THB at any immigration office, but it will only keep the rest days of your initial "permitted to stay 60-days" period valid

he forgot to say that after the last day stamped, you will technically be in "overstay". You can then get arrested and deported at your own costs at any time

the interpretation of the rule by this immigration officer is an absolute disgrace ! It is nowhere in the police order mentioned, that the "never below 400,000 THB" rule does also cover the combination method

yes, i am in Germany now and I am clicking the link you provided. I guess it is secure-localized, and you can only open the correct three different Apps when you are in Thailand. I only see the second and the third App
