these countries don't get a 30 day visa exemption: Bhutan

Bulgaria

China

Cyprus

Ethiopia

Fiji

Georgia

India

Kazakhstan

Malta

Mexico

Nauru

Papua New Guinea

Romania

Saudi Arabia

Taiwan

Uzbekistan

Vanuatu . . . . . they will all only receive a 15-day Visa-on-arrival. And five countries don't need a visa and will receive 90 days stay permits, which are: Argentina Brazil Chile South Korea Peru

. .you have been taken for an 800-Baht ride by a scrupulous and greedy immigration official. Best thing you can do, mark it under "losses", forget about it and move on

i must apologize for my wrong info that a 30-day exempt extension could not receive a re.entry permit. Ron Angel has clarified it. However this does not mean that a re-entry into Thailand is guaranteed. As Austin T-rex Divine mentioned that he holds a history of those 30-days Exempts, any Immigration Officer at the border can deny entry upon his/her own consideration

there is no 30-day Tourist Visa. You have a 30-day Visa Exempt which you extended for another 30 days. For this you cannot get or use a re-entry permit. You'd rather receive a new 30-day Visa exempt upon entry (maximum two per year at land borders, and at airports an undefined number) "Undefined" means, if you already have a long history of entries they might refuse the next one

once the visa is past its validity date and you are already in the second year, you do not have a multi re-entry any more . . so if you plan to exit and enter again you will need to buy a re-entry permit each time

yes, the booth is at Section 2 . . visible behind the glass from the departure level. You either must go upstairs, pass through the security scans before you go back downstairs and can access the re-entry booth BEFORE you pass through the Immigration desks. Or if you have a VIP Card, you walk through the security at the departure & check-in level, but then right after the scan must make yourself heard that you need a re-ntry permit, as the next step would be the immigration. Tell the personnell after the scan

to my knowledge, the 12-month income proof can also be done by people from countries whose embassies do still issue the affidavits. The method is not restricted to the citizens of those four countries you mentioned. Correct me if wrong. The police order does not mention a specific country
