The very recently announced 30 Day Extensions with an Embassy Letter could push the problem out to several months. Why? Because the announcement says that a person can apply for several Extension - one after another
- So you hang out in a group to needle people who are doing everything they have been asked to do to get back to Thailand - but are still blocked. Do you get some sort of sadistic pleasure from adding to people's frustrations?
It depends if you are applying for an O-A Visa in your home country or not. If you are in Thailand you cannot apply for the O-A. Rather you apply for an O Visa to be converted to an Extension of Stay (at some immigration offices). When applying inside Thailand the money has to be in a Thai Bank.
You should be able to get a One year Extension of Stay by showing you meet the financial requirements... either 400,000 baht in the bank account in your name only. Or proof of 40,000 baht per month (of foreign origin) for the past 12 months.
