Hi all,

Thinking I already know the answer but thought I'd double check with the lads,

I'll be applying for a Non O prior to travelling to Thailand with the intent of getting married and staying, I understand 90 days from arrival and opening a bank account, registering the marriage and then applying for the 12 month extension once these things are sorted.

Question is

Does the original Non O visa expire, do I have to enter Thailand to activate within a certain time frame from when the visa is issued.

1st time: Non-O marriage visa

Hi everyone. My husband and I recently got married in Thailand and we now have our Thai marriage certificate. He is currently on a visa exemption, which will expire on 9 April. We’re planning to apply for a Non-O marriage visa for him, but so far no Thai bank (Bang Na area) has allowed him to open a bank account because they told us he needs a Non-O visa first.

1. Does anyone have any suggestions in our situation? Are there any banks in Bangkok or nearby that might allow him to open an account?

2. We are also planning a short trip to Laos for a few days. When he re-enters Thailand, will he receive a 30-day or 60-day visa exemption stamp?

Thank you in advance for any advice 🙏

Am I correct to assume when applying for an extension on a non o (marriage based) I need to bring the map and family photos at that time?

I am travelling to Thailand in January/2026 for 4 weeks. Would I have a problem re-entering Thailand in April? and then apply for a Non-O visa for marriage. I have a visa-exempt passport.

Is it preferable/easier to apply for an extension of stay based on marriage or thai child? Any difference in the requirements?

I have a few questions regarding the 1 yr Extension for the Non O marriage visa.

- based in BKK, so I will go to CW. I read that the under consideration period is 21 days there and that I can apply from -45days onwards. If I go early, let’s say 40 days before, is the under consideration period still 21 days or the full 40 days?

- in regard to the bank letter with the 400k. I assume this is just the print out of all the past transactions + the signature of the branch manager right?

- those 6 pictures of me together with my wife have to be taken at specific locations within and in front of our condo?

Thanks a lot
