TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on how to handle their imminent visa expiration before a planned repatriation flight home in September. The user’s visa expires on September 2nd, and they were advised to apply for a tourist visa but were unable to find the application. Community comments suggest that under current circumstances, if the user is leaving before September 26th, they may not need to worry about visa issues due to an amnesty in effect. Many commenters advise sorting out the travel plans without stressing over the visa, and some recommend checking with the Thai Embassy for more information and clarity.

Looks like all the repat flights are already sold out from the UK in September.

Better to have a proper visa before entry to Thailand. Visa amnesty type giving you more trouble than you can imagine.
Jay *****
Your visa doesn’t expire until 26th September.

Just got back in on a NON O. On night 4 of quarantine. ..the whole process has been a complete nightmare.

Please contact the nearest Thai Embassy to your current location.

The question does appear to be somewhat ambiguous but there is no call for spitefullness. Everyone in Thailand is fine until 26th September provided their Visa did not run out before the due date back in March.

@Ni**
and overstay works great if immigration doesn’t come up with a realistic option 🤷‍♂️
Nick ************
@Todd ********
I would not like to put that to the test. I know Thai prisons are likely to become tourist attractions but, personally, I would prefer to keep clear of them.
Todd *********
@Ni**
nobody should need to. But these are exceptional times. I have overstayed here several times. Pay your fine on exit. Have a great day. Fear owns too many people. They aren’t about to randomly start filling up prisons with foreign nationals on overstay.
Nick ************
@Todd ********
well I am not in need of an overstay now i am pleased to say.

@Ni**
awesome man! Me too. Retirement visa was easy. But I still think immigration may come up with a post-amnesty alternative. Or there will be a LOT of people heading for overstay. I’m not going back to Canada that’s for sure
Nick ************
@Todd ********
I think they will come up with something too but I could not face another drama like the last one as we approached August 1st!
Todd *********
@Ni**
haha. In doing the math, for 32k, price is pretty fair for 15 months. And no headaches, no stress, no paper gathering, no immigration lineups...

Bit of a no brainer really

@Todd ********
it was a bit more than that for me but I got a bank account as well. The whole lot took 2 hours and I got my passport back the next day. Very good service.

@Nick ***********
are you in BKK?
Nick ************
@Todd ********
not now, I was last week. Back in Nakhon Phanom now.
Todd *********
@Nick ***********
ahhh u went to BKK for this. The post cost me 50 baht.. and no time lost '
Nick ************
@Todd ********
I lost no time as I had a great week in Bangkok unless you count the two hours it took at immigration but that was an interesting experience too.

Your good until September 26th book your flight now

The OP should clarify
Mark ********
I'm suspecting this might be a 'back to my home in Thailand' related question given Brits don't need visas or repat flights to get into the UK?
Christina *********
If you are leaving Thailand you should be on the automatic visa until the 26th September. So you have until the 26th to leave.
Shelley ********
Some of you should go back to school and learn to read.

You're all good if you leave before 26 September 😁😁😁
Todd *********
If leaving before sept 26, you don’t need to do anything
Kool *******
If you have a plane flight home, just go to immigration and pay the bt1900 for an extension, if your visa/extension hasn't expired, or just wait for your flight, if it is before Sept 26th. You should have no overstay fines.
Nick ************
@Kool ******
you do NOT need to pay for an extension as the amnesty lasts until Sept 26th for everyone.
Joe ***********
The posted statement says he is going Home - not coming to Thailand

Don't worry about your visa.

Just pay the overtime

A little positive comment helps every now and then. Not everyone is a rocket scientist or knows how the system works 🙄
James **********
You cannot fly on a tourist visa. Look on the Thai embassy website of your country for what you need

The posted statement says he is going Home - not coming to Thailand
James **********
@Joe **********
Ok. I assumed Thailand was their home
Joe ***********
@James *********
- Could be - but I read it a different way. Only the OP knows

Did you get a certificate of entry?
