TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on how to handle their imminent visa expiration before a planned repatriation flight home in September. The user’s visa expires on September 2nd, and they were advised to apply for a tourist visa but were unable to find the application. Community comments suggest that under current circumstances, if the user is leaving before September 26th, they may not need to worry about visa issues due to an amnesty in effect. Many commenters advise sorting out the travel plans without stressing over the visa, and some recommend checking with the Thai Embassy for more information and clarity.

The question does appear to be somewhat ambiguous but there is no call for spitefullness. Everyone in Thailand is fine until 26th September provided their Visa did not run out before the due date back in March.
I would not like to put that to the test. I know Thai prisons are likely to become tourist attractions but, personally, I would prefer to keep clear of them.
nobody should need to. But these are exceptional times. I have overstayed here several times. Pay your fine on exit. Have a great day. Fear owns too many people. They aren’t about to randomly start filling up prisons with foreign nationals on overstay.
awesome man! Me too. Retirement visa was easy. But I still think immigration may come up with a post-amnesty alternative. Or there will be a LOT of people heading for overstay. I’m not going back to Canada that’s for sure
it was a bit more than that for me but I got a bank account as well. The whole lot took 2 hours and I got my passport back the next day. Very good service.
If you have a plane flight home, just go to immigration and pay the bt1900 for an extension, if your visa/extension hasn't expired, or just wait for your flight, if it is before Sept 26th. You should have no overstay fines.
