If you are in your second year of an O-A visa you go to your local Thai Immigration office and Apply for an Extension of Stay based on being over age 50 / Retirement (same as people who start with the O Visa)

An O-A visa is actually a two year visa. If you are still in your first year - then exiting Thailand and reentering just a few days before the first year expiry gives you a other year

Establish a Guesthouse address in Mueang Surat Thani and take a ferryboat ride to sanity where you're not asked to do a stupid unneeded thing in accordance with the rest of the country

No one except authorized people or companies can drive across the Mukdahan Bridge into Laos, example bus, goods shipping companies ... There is safe inexpensive parking to be found on the Thai side - if you look closely ...

Yes the Non Imm. O Marriage Visa - Multi Entry is a snap at the Royal Thai Consulate in Savannakhet... Allows in and out travel for a year - No Reentry Permit needed and no 90 day reports. Plus no Financials to get it... Just Marriage docs., ID, etc.
