TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a resident of Koh Pha Ngan, is urgently seeking information about obtaining a health certificate for a retirement visa after learning that the First Western Hospital can no longer issue these certificates. Comments from the community suggest going to Bandon Hospital where it costs only 250 Baht, as opposed to higher fees at government hospitals. There are also discussions about the requirements for renewing a Non-OA visa, which can vary by location and may include obtaining a health certificate in some cases.

This is my 4th year here but the rules seem to forever change

What are the latest requirements for renewal of Non Immigrant O-A Visa and can I download the form? Quite confusing the websites.
Joe ***********
To get a 90 day Non Imm O visa in the Thailand region and the subsequent one year Extension of Stay - you can use proof of monthly income from out of Thailand - equivalent to 65,000 Baht a month. Depending on your home country Bangkok Embassy rules - a certificate / letter of income is available for a fee and certain proof of income.
Joe ***********
Thailand really does not have a Visa Renewal system - you just start over again
Joe ***********
If you want another O-A Visa you have to get it in your home country - same as the first one.
Joe ***********
I have read that a Multi Entry O visa (without any justification except being over age 50) had recently been issued in the UK but it is not commonly done and not done at all in the USA... But you are not going to get a Non Imm Multi O in the Thailand region unless married to a Thai or have custody of your

Thai children here.

Why not a straight out renewal for one year with multiple entries?
Joe ***********
Then you have to get a 90 day Non Imm O visa then apply for the One Year Extension of Stay.

The O Visa single entry can be obtained in Vientiane, Savannakhet , Penang and other places in the region AND at the main immigration office in Bangkok
Garry *********
Unfortunately leaving just after renewal is due and then returning 3 months later
Joe ***********
If you are in your second year of an O-A visa you go to your local Thai Immigration office and Apply for an Extension of Stay based on being over age 50 / Retirement (same as people who start with the O Visa)
Joe ***********
An O-A visa is actually a two year visa. If you are still in your first year - then exiting Thailand and reentering just a few days before the first year expiry gives you a other year

which site ?
Phil ******
On your pc.....I am assuming you have a pc?

where?
Phil ******
Just renew online

Embedded RFID CHIP anyone?

Establish a Guesthouse address in Mueang Surat Thani and take a ferryboat ride to sanity where you're not asked to do a stupid unneeded thing in accordance with the rest of the country

For some people, it may be.

Just done my visa last week in Samui, no problem. I knew what they wanted and I gave them
Joe ***********
So a ferryboat ride every 90 days to a place with better shopping Malls is a problem?
Isabelle *********
but after, for the first reporting 90 days, no problem but for the next one, Samui will ask to go back where the visa was asked
Phil ******
Yes why do you need the medical certificate?
Steve *******
You dont need a health certificate for a non imm o visa or an extention of stay based on being over 50 years old. For a non imm 0A visa you need a health certificate from the country where you apply for the visa.
Isabelle *********
In Samui, you need it since 2 years now.

They ask more and more.

Last year, only 6 point. This year, 12 points
Fred *********
First time I have heard of that in years. Was a requirement years ago but dropped.
Isabelle *********
For renewing retirement visa, you need health certificate from an hospital in Thailand
Isabelle *********
You can go to Bandon Hospital in Koh Samui (next to Big C). It's 250 Baht
