Ash Buckland 😆 your on a long term visa and don’t NEED to show any return ticket, Jesus Christ no shit 😂
Well if someone ask a question and you refer to another possibility with your self and your friends whom also possibly has long term visas then your answer is incorrect and has nothing to do with his question 😂 yes/No?
Yes, you can fly to Thailand with a one-way ticket, but you risk being DENIED boarding by your airline if you cannot show proof of onward travel within your visa-exempt period (typically 30–60 days). While Thai immigration rarely checks, airlines enforce this rule to avoid penalties!!!!!
Been so for ages!
It’s always first up to airline companies to check and also deny the checkin, because it’s their problem to send them back!!!!
Airline Liability: Under international regulations and Thai law, the airline that brought you to Thailand is legally required to fly you back if you are deemed "inadmissible". However, this is not a "free" service; the airline will pay the immediate cost to move you but will then bill you or seek reimbursement for the fare and any government fines they incurred.
Detention: If you cannot immediately pay for a ticket, you may be held in an Immigration Detention Center (IDC) within the terminal until you can arrange funds or a flight is secured. You will remain in custody and will not be allowed to enter the country to use an ATM outside the secure zone.
Government Role: The Thai government generally does not pay for your return flight. They simply order the airline to remove you. If you are formally deported (a different process from being denied entry at the border), the government may pay for the removal and then blacklist you until you repay the debt
Common Reasons for Denial (and why airlines are strict):
No proof of onward travel (within 30–60 days depending on your visa).
Again, ITS CORRECT!!!
what you and others done or whatever is irrelevant!
You’re banned in the passport right? so no, your not even have the possibility to enter Thailand… If your ban is over then no, they will not put you in jail because they let you in.
No you can’t without have a ticket out, it has nothing to do with immigration because first step is checkin at airline. If you travel without a visa for long term stay you need a ticket out. It’s simple as that, within the days you are allowed to stay, including a tourist visa.
Yeah well that’s the rule to enter and in fact, if you don’t hold a visa and only one way ticket then you should not be able to checkin at airport since it becomes the airline company’s problem to send you back for free if your denied entry.
Read some fast on the matter and suggest you also do so, first step is to get correct advices from embassy/consulate in your home country.
It states that under 20 they go as dependent on your visa and over 20 it can be the same, it’s up to immigration in end. It does not say it’s impossible.
But first step so you get the correct way is to visit embassy/consulate.
The test is easy if you convert, it’s the paperwork then the test, 3 different stations, and since your foreigner they try put you in a class that has English subtitles in video and put you in front so you can read it. Video is 45 min.
Then you wait for your turn and get your license. (2 year in my case) Converted way (mine was included that I had IDP).
My Thai license expired during covid and I changed it 2 years after, that time it was expired and I had to do the full test, it means a loooooooong video, several hours and then do the written test (50 questions, 45 has to be correct. (No worry, all questions and answers are online) and they have them in English.
Passed and got 5 year license.
It’s no big deal actually and only cost 505 Baht 😆
I’m my country it would cost 50.000-100.000 baht…
