Why is it difficult to open a Thai bank account without a visa?

From my experience, many bank staff have no experience in opening an account for aliens...even with the guide book in hand.

It's just out of their comfort zone to do it..

Is it normal to not receive an exit stamp when leaving Thailand?

Last departed in May, normal immigration procedure, got an exit stamp.

So in February upon my return, I most likely will use the newly installed automated facilities.

Don't need to research, just go with flow...and learn along the way.
