Just a quick heads-up for anyone entering on a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa):
Make sure to double-check the visa stamp in your passport at immigration!
Yesterday, the officer accidentally put the wrong stamp in mine — a regular tourist visa instead of the DTV. I caught it right away, went back, and she was super nice about it and fixed it immediately.
I think they’re just so used to stamping tourist visas that it can happen by mistake. Easy to miss if you’re in a rush, so better to check before you leave the counter!
Would like to share a recent experience, a call yesterday from Phuket immig asking if they could visit me at home confirming my presence before lunch today. They duly arrived at 11-30 and immig officer had a brief chat took a photo, thanked me for the very precise drawn map I presented with my last visa app…..now i’ve heard of them visiting farangs with thai wives but not retiree‘s - positive engagement chatted with my singaporean wife who is also on a retirement visa and went on his way - at least i know the map I draw and google cooridnates had some value. Very pleasant man……..
sriracha immigration are requesting photos of friends residence to prove proof he resides there. Does anyone have experience of the immigration checking in person where someone is loving by turning up in person? Thanks in advance
I just had a Freind arrive in Bangkok with a tourist e visa to be denied entry as it was not recognised She is from Tanzania and I think scammed by an agent how do you check if the visa is real or not
My consulate (Swedish Pattaya) did a monthly income letter (Swedish) for my non o. Now immigration want me to go to MOFA in Bangkok to verify it. The consultant say it’s the rules of immigration I am a bit confused I already paid for a income letter that’s verified by my embassy now I have the verify the embassy? Is this common or they just pick random people?
Update 15.3 on the saga Royal Thai Embassy Vientiane online booking system. They figured out that someone make fake bookings and visa run companies and walk in applicants get less and less. We and other visa run companies do not have or sale slots BTW due to system restrictions no rebookings are possible anyway. We have to turn customer away and , if they qualify, let them go to Savannakhet. Now the Thai Embassy send letter out that ask booked people to verify the bookings, while doing so the provided email support@thaivisavientiane.com can not received the reconfirmations.
