Hello everyone,

I have a quick and tbh, I guess quite unsual question for this group but I hope you could give me an advise.

I could book a super cheap flight to Thailand in just two days. (Saudia Airlines).

However, I'm worrying about the current weather report and forecast.

[members only]

Is it currently worth it? I know it's still rainy season and in fact, some daily rain would be fine.

However, it would be really sad if its just gray, not sunny at all and super rainy everyday or even worse (Chiang Mai).

If you think it should be fine, any idea where's the best place to go in these times? (10th - 22nd)

Was talking to someone and it was said that e.g. Koh Phangan the weather almost never is like the forecast.

I really love Thailand but also Crete, Greece is on the table and it seems to be super sunny there day by day - temperatures about the same as well.

Kinda not sure what to do and unfortunately I need to act fast.

What do you think? 🤔

Thank you!

I'm planning to live in Thailand sometime soon after I retire and get my Australian Aged Pension next year. Most likely it'll be the middle of next year by the time I'll get there. I've lived in Adelaide for the past 53 years, where the climate is considered 'Temperate'. Maximum temperatures in winter can be as low as about 11C & summers can get into the 40C+zone, but usually only 2-5 days, if that. As I'm getting older, I'm really hating the winters here.

I visited Thailand for 3 weeks in November 2022 and spent most of the time there between Lopburi and Nakhon Sawan, so about 2-3.5 hours north of Bangkok. Temperatures during that time were pretty consistently around 29C to 32C and no rain.

My question for those that have spent a reasonable time in that part of the country, not too much further north or south; what time of the year would be the worst, in regards to temperatures and rainfall?

I have checked some climate websites for this and other parts of Thailand, but I'm looking for personal experiences. Anyone that's originally come from Temperate climate or cooler one would be great. I'm just wanting to get an idea of what time of year to be there to see if I can manage the consistently higher temperatures, rainfall and humidity. I am aware that Thailand had what was probably an extreme weather event in April this year, where there was 30 plus days over 40C, at least in most of the country. Thanks.

I have been to Thailand from Australia, many times, and always enjoy it. I live in Hatyai, and if I need to leave the country, I go to Penang, which I also enjoy! I usually travel on a tourist visa, and then extend as often as possible! It was suggested I get a multi entry visa next time, by my friend. Can you be good enough to tell me the advantages and disadvantages of a multi entry visa? Also the cost? I will probably stay a maximum of 6 months, and a minimum of 3 months! I am retired, so, I am okay financially, and will have health insurance! I will come in the cooler months, which I understand is January to May? Thanks in Advance. I am waiting to be over loaded with information?

On a different note, I’ve been informed by a very nice Frenchman selling pizzas at the lake side market in Khon kaen that’s it’s going to rain heavily on Monday 8th may at 6am,.my weather apps been predicting rain and thunderstorms for weeks now and littles happened,.if it does rain big style it could disrupt people’s and my travel plans,. Don’t shoot me I’m only the messenger,.:UPDATE:( well looking out of the window, at 9.30 ) it seems my “French” weatherman was wrong,!.

Just arrived in Thailand! I need ideas where to go, what to do, where to stay, what food to eat/not eat, how to get around, what I should wear, what to do if it rains, what language is even spoken here, and at what time my return flight leaves. TIA

👆These are the kind of posts that make me wonder what, if ANY, pre-planning or preparation has been done prior to visiting. But to each his own I guess... 🤷🏻‍♂️

Australian travelling to Thailand on Wednesday. What's the update in traveling there. I'm only going for 2 weeks so no visa needed. Do I need covid insurance? Weather? Is superrich still the best place to exchange money?

Permanently cloudy and drizzling rain for days now. Have not really seen the sun since I came back to Thailand last Sunday. In Phuket now. Bound for Koh Lipe. Any chance the weather won’t ruin next week as well? Need some cheering up.
