TLDR : Answer Summary
Many travelers are concerned about not receiving an exit stamp when leaving Thailand, especially when using electronic gates. According to various comments, it is becoming common for passengers to not receive an 'out' stamp as their travel records are maintained electronically in the immigration system. Some users confirmed their experiences of leaving through automated gates without stamps, suggesting that this is standard practice now, especially at busy airports like Suvarnabhumi. However, some travelers reported still receiving stamps when exiting from other locations or when using manual processing. It is advisable to keep boarding passes or other documentation as proof of departure.

I left November 1st through an e-gate no exit stamp. I returned December 6th and no problems getting a 60 day Visa on arrival stamp
when you scan there system sees it and if for example you have overstayed the gate won't open.this type of system has been in the UK and many countries for a few years now, also at Singapore airport ,it's all part of cutting back on staff and human contact ,scan and computer system handles it all.
so, child, if they stop and question you based on your book, they would need a computer to reconcile the electronic files with the stamps. Last time (just a few weeks ago). They had no computer. Don't be condescending.
