If your landlord has actually done the TM30 online then ask him for a screenshot of the entry. Then ask him to search for your name and take another screenshot. This will act as proof that it has been done. There’s no need for you to go to the immigration unless you need a paper version of the TM30 for any reason.
, if heading for CR and staying in a hotel then it’s easy and yes, immigration is usually empty with no one queuing. Took 30 mins to get our ‘retirement’ extension in all. Walked in a straight up to the desk. You should have no issues while there. If not staying in a hotel/hostel then make sure that your address is registered before applying for the extension. Form TM30. CR are quick but efficient and work by the book. Have fun!
maybe cheaper to go to a hotel where they complete a TM30 for you. Then go back to house and complete TM30 within 24 hours. No fine should be charged then.
, if not actually 24 hours, it will be open before your flight by a couple of hours or more. We took a very early flight and checked through early just to give time to get the paperwork done.
, indeed, in CM you just need to provide the Landlord’s name and registration number and IM will conduct the search and print up the receipt(s). My landlord doesn’t have a printer!
Safer for wife to get the online account (or App) and apply every time you return to her address from wherever. If she does this then get a screenshot once complete as it acts like your receipt.
Some IM offices don’t require a TM30 unless there’s a new TM6 landing card but others want it every time and they change their minds at will. Chiang Mai, I’ve been told by them in the past, only requires to update with the new TM6 number. Chiang Rai, on the other hand, want TM30 if going outside the province. Check with your local IM office to be sure.
