Hi I’m traveling from Cameroon to Shanghai through Bangkok on the 30th and will have a 13 hour layover in Bangkok. Can I be granted a transit visa upon arrival there into the city before continuing my journey ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler from Cameroon will need to obtain a transit visa from the Thai embassy or consulate in advance, as transit visas are not available upon arrival in Bangkok. Leaving the transit area is not permitted without the appropriate visa.

Transit Visa is not available at entry point, you need to purchase transit visa at consulate/embassy in advance.

Other type of visa or alternatives availability at entry point depends on your nationality.

It depends on your passport.

If from Cameroon then it appears that you need to have a visa before arrival. However, if transmitting and staying in the airport then I will pass that to someone else for an answer.

This link does not provide accurate information. It is correct that a Cameroon passport holder needs a visa prior to travel to Thailand but a tourist visa gives 60 days of stay and not 15.
