I had the same challenge - Thai airways would not allow us to book the dog space until we had our seats booked.

We booked in May and then reserved the space as it is added to your main booking as excess baggage.

Advantage of using TA was that it was direct so no disturbing her with a Middle East transfer

Brought our lab (26kg) from uk - weight is important as used excess baggage with Thai airways in 2019 - did it all ourselves - import permit dragged from Thailand and relo4paws kindly gave animal import a nudge for us - straight forward as long as you plan and book space early on plane as restricted number of pet spaces allocated on each flight - she was there waiting for us after going through passport control 🙏

If possible dhl it to you or if somebody can scan relevant pages from old passport to you - io may accept but at least you tried 👍

Both better options then going through whole process and associated costs /stress again

We arrived with 90day non o - dog import permit does not hv time limit as you say and no such visa for dog. Did you apply for a temporary permit for animal?

Rejected mine last month and had to do

a 4hr round trip - previous 6 done within the same day - couldn’t give me a reason when I asked - such a hit and miss service 😡
