Hi everyone, I have a new passport and already transfer my non o to my new passport but I did not transfer the re entry permit. I am now overseas and forgotten to bring my old passport with me. Will the system have a record of my re entry permit? I only have my new passport with me now with my non O visa. Thank you so much for your help πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat transferred their NON-O visa to a new passport but forgot to transfer the re-entry permit. They currently do not have their old passport while overseas and are unsure if the re-entry permit is still valid for re-entry into Thailand. Responses suggest checking with passport control, the possibility of entering on a visa-exempt basis, and various options for retrieving the old passport, including having it delivered or mailed back. Ultimately, the individual managed to return to Thailand with a tourist visa, allowing them to keep their extension valid, indicating their situation was resolved.

Hello guys thanks for the suggestions. I’m back in Thailand now entering on 30 days tourist visa. The good news is I can still keep my visa but to exit the country within 30 days and come back with my old passport with the re entry permit. So the extension is still valid. πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

, glad you are back safely. Go to re-enter on your existing extension. Remember, until you enter on Non-O based extension again, you are a tourist with visa-exempt entry.

then go to the immigration office or airport that issued your re-entry permit to move that stamp to the new passport (if multiple re-entry).

Unless you get your old passport you’ll probably have to start over

If possible dhl it to you or if somebody can scan relevant pages from old passport to you - io may accept but at least you tried πŸ‘

Both better options then going through whole process and associated costs /stress again

Good luck 🀞

Maybe one possible option, I don’t know for sure but just an idea…

If you book one of the airport VIP meet and greet services, could someone deliver the old passport to this company, so when they meet you at the plane door, they could give it to you before you reach immigration.

Just a thought.

I suggest having your old passport mailed to you by DHL Express from Thailand...

Then carry both old and new passports to show Thai Immigration Officers when you return to Thailand.

That should work...

But use the reliable DHL Express service...I know as I have used their International Mail services many times. You can track the mailing using their tracking service online.

Delivery usually in 3 to 4 days, for example to the USA.

Good Luck πŸ€

get someone to deliver your old passport to the airport when you arrrive, and maybe they can ask Immigration to pass it to you ???

@Gordon ******
, i don't think it would work l. but might be worth asking first to the arrival airport if the immigration officer could help to deliver something to an arrival passenger at passport control
Gordon *******
can only try, or as another poster suggested to mail the passport

Sadly I think no, you lost your extension when you stamped out without having the re-entry transferred to the new passport AND without having the old passport with you to show you had a valid re-entry permit πŸ™

Follow what Ellie suggests, it'll either work or it won't

I mean worst case you get stamped in free stamp, lose everything and start over.

All you can do is asking at passport control about it.

Honestly, I don't think you can enter on a re-entry permit without a physical stamp.

In the worst case, you will enter on visa-exempt and your extension is invalidated. You have to do all the procedures to get Non-O again.

There MIGHT be a slight possibility that is: you will enter on visa-exempt. Then go for border-bounce with the old passport, enter again using a valid re-entry permit on your old passport to be stamped on your extension.
