Will Amazon prime work as a standalone app or do you have to be through a VPN to use it?
Eric ******
@Stelio **********
Neither of my Firestick would work in Bangkok last year because it was geofenced. Even though I pay for prime, wouldn’t let me access any of the programs. I’ll def use a VPN next time.

Try Netflix. Very cheap here in Thailand 169 baht per month

@Daren ********
do you have any idea what Paramount+ and/or Amazon Prime Video costs in Thailand? Here in Australia, my Amazon Prime, which is just about to expire, cost me $AU75 (about THB1820) for the heart. A Paramount+ subscription I just took up a few months ago cost me pretty much the same.

Sorry I have no idea about the costs.

When I ordered the new 4K Firestick from Lazada I got a US version.

This Lazada Firestick did not have Asia/Thailand-specic apps like Disney Hotstar and HBO Go so we have to cast those Asia apps from phones bought in Thailand and that's a bit of a pain.

Is there a way to Lazada order Firesticks that have the Asia-specific apps?....Or maybe they don't make one.

@Brad ******
downloader should have options to get any apps from worldwide.

Where can I get IPTV I’m in Bangkok
Benedict **********
Don’t buy Firestick too many limitations from Amazon. Get Mii Stick or Box from Xiaomi, basically the same as a Firestick but you have full Google Play store access. Then get iptv service of your choice.

I hv 3 versions of the firestick all loaded with IPTV - provides all from uk - been using same service 5 years 👍

If you a have spare smartphone, use that, load the apps and cast to TV, much better specs than most boxes and easy to control, vs box mouse or airmouse. I do this, excellent
Terary **********
I wasn't that impressed. It's a specialized bit torrent system, if you're familiar with that. If you are not familiar with bit torrents than it's probably a good buy.

@Carsten ***********
is this not the same as any iptv box? I have true and downloaded some iptv app but it just won’t connect
Carsten ************
@James ****
The boxes all work the same way and you may install all apps on all of them. Differences are in RAM and ROM and the menu. Also many boxes come along with poor remote control. Imho the Xiaomi MI S is top. I'm still using the 1st Generation Box. I don't know the True Box.

after get the box van everything else be self set up?
Carsten ************
@James ****
some people can, others can't. You may study it on YouTube or just go to Tukom.

was looking at that, it works well here?
Carsten ************
@Gary **********
best Box I ever used. I tried many. For the setup and updates I visit a shop at Tukom. They charge me 100,- thb for the service. That's why I don't want a smart TV.

Currently I'm using IPTV. It's 1500,- per year. I tried Wizz, but that's loaded with 90% Brit stuff.

@Carsten ***********
you can use iptv in Thailand
Carsten ************
@Gary **********
Sure. In my case it's also the name of the App. Others are i.e. Wizz or Vavoo. Tukom has lots of shops doing the Setup for you. Tell them what stuff you want to watch and they install it for you, I.e. Netflix.

MI Box S, 2nd Generation.

Firestick is nothing else than an Android Box without cable.

If you don't have a smart TV, any android box will include all the usual streaming service apps, or you can easily download any missing apps like Amazon Prime Videos, Disney Hotstar, etc. Unless you are asking about the illegal services that give you pirated access to streaming channels.
Roger *******
@Pui ****
Do tell more
Pui *****
@Roger ******
there are various sellers of android boxes that either come preloaded with a bunch of pirated movies, or provide illegal pirated access to streaming channels. Don't support such unethical people when most streaming services in Thailand are so cheap already.
Colin *********
@Pui ****
I'm just curious as to how much Streaming Services cost in Thailand? This last year, I paid just under $75 (about THB1820) in Australia for Amazon Prime, which I can watch on my Smart TV, Phone or Tablet. Also included is Amazon Prime Music and free delivery on products purchased on Amazon Shopping. Hopefully, I'll move to Thailand to live in the next 12 to 18 months.
Pui *****
@Colin ********
Prime Video = 149 baht a month or 999 baht a year (83.25 baht a month)

Netflix = 99 to 419 baht a month depending on devices and resolution (169 baht package is most common)

Disney Hotstar = 99 to 289 baht a month or 799 to 2290 baht a year depending on devices

HBO Go = 199 a month or 1190 baht a year (99.16 baht a month)
Colin *********
@Pui ****
thanks for that information 🙏
