Piet de Keizer ok, I'm not saying I'm going to do it, I'm just surprised that you could easily get around this requirement. And it's not really a question of honesty if you are being truthful
Sorry if a dumb question, but ok 40,000k must come in but what's to stop you from transferring back out (or withdrawing cash, redeposit to different account and then transferring back)?
I was in the same situation as you. I downloaded the forms and gave them to my girlfriend who completed them and then I took them myself to the MTT. It was no problem other than I got dinged with 800 THB late fee. It's a nuisance though and my GF would have had to take a day off work, so that's why I went on my own. And as it turned out I wasn't asked for TM30 on either of my renewals.
Last week I went from Bangkok to Lang Suan (Chumphon) for 3 nights, then when boarding ferry to Koh Tao, they asked for my passport and where I was coming from and I said Lang Suan and they said ok. Not sure what would have happened if I said Bangkok (where I had been for the past 10 weeks, other than 3 nights in Lang Suan)
Ya I would say the pool is probably the safest place to be. It is almost always empty and doubt there is any chance at all that the virus could transmit there. I just thought they would only close if they were required to
agreed, but I've decided theres no advantage getting a long stay visa because the longest stretch for me in Thailand is 4 months and so TR visas are all that I need
I spend 4-5 months a year in Thailand (2 trips), intended to open an account this trip but have come to the conclusion there is really no benefit. I brought enough cash for first month and then when I need more I just do a TW transfer into my GFs account, she then withdraws cash as I need it. Having my own account is really no extra benefit. Also I believe most banks charge an annual fee for ATM access. For me I'd only do about 4-5 WDs a year so not worth the 200THB fee.
