STV Evisa rejected in less than 24 hours for "applying to wrong Embassy in US". I guess you can't apply to any Embassy.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user faced a STV Evisa rejection due to applying at the wrong Thai Embassy in the US. The conversation reveals that applicants must use the embassy that services their state. There are four Thai embassies in the US, and users cannot choose their embassy arbitrarily. Additionally, there are notes on the non-refundable nature of visa fees and the documentation required, including proof of address.

Yo, one of the required documents is proof of address to acknowledge you are applying at correct consulate. Think it's #7 how'd you miss that?

Has the great USA not joined the 21st century of E-visa for Thailand

Nope. I was shocked. Why allow me to choose the Embassy if I have no choice? I thought they were promoting tourism. I've decided to cancel everything and rebook my flight until things start making sense again.

I think it will be a long time before normality returns to international travel. The E-Visa system works well for us I UK the visa comes via email no visit to Embassy or need to send passports

can you reapply and have payment credited there ?

Consulates, not embassies. Each country has a maximum of one embassy and it’s always in the capital city.

Hmmm... Interesting. I lived in Michigan in 2018 and applied for my first Tourist Visa from the Thai Embassy (Consular Office) in Washington DC.

they appear to be enforcing these areas now.

I am in OK but obtained an O-A visa two years ago from Los Angeles.

Yes, starting 2.5 years ago, the Thai Government started throwing up obstacle, after obstacle, for visitors from Western countries.

There's 4 Thai embassies in the US, you have to choose the one that services your state.
Brandon ************
You've never been able to pick and choose. You need to use the one that covers your state.

did you have options at which embassy the request would go to? maybe choose one that is closer by? good luck with any new applications!
