I have an extension to stay based on marriage and a work permit. Immigration wanted to see all of the tax records and employment documents as well as all the documents pertaining to an application for the aforementioned extension. So yes, I’d say that is normal. *Samui Immigration.
Also, if you’re going to work as a consultant/educator/trainer etc you will need a minimum wage of 40k a month. You and your employer will be required to pay tax to support this. First work permit - no tax proof required, second one - ducks in order. This is my experience, happy to be corrected 🙂
If I were you, I wouldn’t initially focus on the ‘age limit’ so much..it’s a common misconception that you need to obtain a vista to get a job when in reality you need a job to get a visa. After securing employment you will need to meet the requirements for a work permit. An employer that doesn’t help you with this is an employer not worth having. Approach everything in the correct manner and you’ll have a fighting chance.
Troy Cornick so far... no fines or mention of TM30 from Samui of any kind. I wasn’t asked to provide evidence of TM30 registration when I applied for my extension and I know others as recent as August that haven’t had to provide evidence of registration upon initial application or renewal (not saying that this hasn’t happened). It’s not chaengwattana and I guess highlights the difference between immigration offices in Thailand. Long may it last
Australian, saying they left a week ago and when re-entering (Bangkok) had their health insurance validity bought into question. Sorry if it’s not that clear.
