I don't have any input. I'm an Expat Volunteer. I do what I can to help us help ourselves.

I suspect it is recovery. That they don't want someone donating for the first time at 69. Lot of countries have a cutoff at 60 - period - with no continuation beyond 60.

I'm an Expat Volunteer

They want the data on the donor prior to 60.

As we age, our ability to replenish red blood cells reduces. It's to ensure the safety for the donor.

I listed out the donor eligibility...

I'm an Expat Volunteer. I don't have any input on the restrictions.

Hi Amy, we are still looking for donors.

There are two locations that I know of in Bangkok

The Emporium Mall

Or

The National Blood Centre on Henri Dunant Rd. Near Sam Yan metro

@Suzanne *****
I am an Expat Volunteer who is trying to save someone's life.

We need eligible donors who live in Thailand.

I have listed the eligibility requirements on the post and have informed those donors from the United Kingdom,France and Ireland who may have lived in the vCJD areas, that they are Welcomed Back at the National Blood Centre

I fully appreciate your suggestion that people fly to Canada to donate. However, that doesn't help the patient here.

Canada does NOT accept donors from the United Kingdom

@Suzanne *****
Canada does not accept donors from the United Kingdom, France or Ireland.

It isn't "discrimination".

Thailand does accept. They are one of the first non-European countries to do so.

However, only at the National Blood Centre in Bangkok that has the capability to process the blood. Smaller blood banks do not have the capability

Thank you 😊

If you are from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, France 🇫🇷 or Ireland 🇮🇪 and lived there from 1980-1996... those years of the mad cow disease. Then the only location is the National Blood Centre on Henri Dunant Rd. Near Sam Yan metro. They are specially processing the blood

If you were not there during those years, I think the Emporium Mall may be your closest. There is a red cross location somewhere in that mall. I have only been to the National Blood Centre.

This is the donor registration form from the Thai Red Cross. Question #35.

If you lived in the UK, France or Ireland from 1980 to 1996, you were certainly exposed to the spike protein that causes "mad cow disease". Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease is the correct term. If you check YES to question #35, then you may ONLY donate at the National Blood Centre in Bangkok on Henri Dunant. They are specially processing the blood. Because of the Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

Everyone else, who did NOT live in the effected region, may donate at ANY Thai Red Cross location. In Phuket, or the Thai Red Cross location in Bangkok at the Emporium Mall, etc.

This is why the instructions in the post read

"Donors from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, France 🇫🇷 and Ireland 🇮🇪 who lived in the vCJD "mad cow disease time-frame" from 1980-1996 are Welcomed Back at the National Blood Centre in Bangkok on Henri Dunant Rd ONLY. Special processing for blood.
