Anonymous participant it’s going to be the providers of the documentation. The other soft power options have to be fully registered and have official status with their relevant government departments. Check out some of the soft power applicant’s posts here in the group to get an idea of what’s required.

You’re not going to get any supporting documents from a registered entity that will satisfy the requirements for that really. Unless one of your contacts in that field is able to supply them. They would need to be confident that they would qualify you for DTV approval.

It’s certainly worth talking to them though. It would be an interesting journey.

Anonymous participant Which, if you’re American, is still a ‘no’. I think they may be hoping that you will eventually understand what they’re saying to you. Currently you seem to think it’s them that are having difficulty understanding.

Anonymous participant They comprehend very well. What they’re saying is, that without a Thai salary you can not open an account with them. The fact that you don’t have one, and on your current visa can not get one is not something they don’t understand. They’re saying ‘no’ to your request to open an account.

I am. I was there recently with a friend who successfully applied for a DTV via HCMC

just to add, you don’t have to be in HCMC itself, just the area that embassy serves. Da Nang for instance is a less busy city to hang out in and is still covered by HCMC for Thai visa applications. Enjoy Vietnam if that’s where you choose to go.

When you read the part on the eVisa website that you do not need a visa, that was the point where you stop needing to use that site. Where it further asks you to select which visa you're applying for is another hint that you don't need to use the site any more.

When you first arrived in Thailand you did not have a visa and were granted a stay of 60 days. That will be what happens the next time you arrive without a visa. It's going to be the same.

Your book is full? Your bank book? Just go and ask for another one. No need to mention your visa type. You’re just a customer asking for a service. Same with the address change. Not sure the last one is really necessary though.

My address with Bangkok Bank has been the same for thirteen years even though I don’t live there any more.
