Two applications I was involved with received requests for further documentation that it could be said had been supplied already; 1. Work contract
2. Bank statement showing the minimum 500k
What was then uploaded was 1. The work contract again, plus another letter from the person’s line manager, dated on the day of the request for further documentation, with more specific information regarding the terms of the DTV rather than the original, more generic ‘this person can work remotely from Thailand’.
2. Bank statement dated on the day of the request for more documentation as we assumed they wanted to check that the money was still there.
The requests they send have these generic descriptions but I think that if they’re asking for something you think you’ve already sent, it may well be that what you’ve already sent might not quite be what they’re looking for.
When I help online visa applications (which ate not just for Thailand) I always try to imagine the person looking at the application, what their criteria are, and that all they have to go from is what you’ve uploaded. So try to make what you’ve uploaded as comprehensive as possible so that they can them approve your application and move on to the next one.
HCMC in Vietnam don’t need to 500k for months but they do want to see financial activity in your account if you’re app, ting as a remote worker, they want to see money from your work going in to your account. So you’ll need a few months of that, plus a final balance showing the 500k plus in the account.
Also, if it’s not in Thai baht, then attach a short explanation of the exchange rate on the day you submit it to make it easier for them to see it’s above the threshold
Anonymous participant You’re good if the people at the tax office can read your contract. They’re not required to be able to read and understand English at the level that contracts are written in.
It’s an online process. There will be no sticker in your passport. They will, once your application is approved, send you a pdf file by email. That will be your visa. Keep it, print it out, and show it to the immigration officer when you enter Thailand.
You can apply from Vietnam. I think from your location it will be via the HCMC consulate but you need to check that on the eVisa site. It gives a list of places in Vietnam and which embassy/consulate you need to apply to.
Proof of current location is required; your entry stamp to Vietnam, your hotel or lodging booking.
You need to stay in Vietnam until your application is processed.
