All becomes clearer

They were trying to fly out, Immigration referred them to Thai Police near immigration, fined for overstay! Understand if they were on a 12 month visa but they’re on an OX 5 year visa! No overstay at all! There was a notation on their visa about health insurance with a date of

/25, maybe this is where the confusion came in? Either way, they shouldn’t have been fined!

at Immigration, Suvarnabhumi! Before they flew! A new one for me too, I have seen a receipt though🙄 cash only not a great indicator though! Anyway, I’ve got a hard copy and a digital copy of my current health insurance just in case, probably not a bad idea to have it anyway….

agree, although they had a notation on their visa and a date! Which I don’t have? All very weird but thanks for confirming what I thought…..I will just make sure I have renewal proof when I leave soon….also would only take cash for payment 😳😳🙄

they were fined by Bangkok Airport officials at Suvarnbhumi Airport when leaving for Sri Lanka! It all sounded a bit suss I thought, I’ve left the country twice and had never been asked for proof! I saw the receipt, 6500 thb each……it was all very strange as I have left Thailand for Australia twice this last year, no drama….

we did follow what she said, this was in May 2023, and will see them in February 2024. She was adamant about this which is why we chose to report in person.

We went to Koh Samui Immigration office to complete 90 day report, both on OX visas and they told us we do this at end of first year, not 90 days?

thanks muchly, this is a game changer with the 5x5 years, they talk about Foreign Insurance certificate? Medical insurance I get but not sure of this?
