I am just about to move to Chiangmai having received a five year OX Visa from the Sydney consulate in Australia. Can someone please clarify for me if the 90 day reporting is my only obligation.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The 90-day reporting is a requirement for Non-OX visa holders and potentially for OX visa holders depending on the immigration office's specific regulations. There are varying experiences reported regarding the frequency of this requirement. Some have been informed that for OX visas, the first 90-day report coincides with the end of the first year, while others have confirmed the regular 90-day reporting is necessary. Those with OX visas should inquire directly at the local immigration office for precise guidance.
and once you get to Chiang Mai I see a trip to the main immigration office by the airport in your future ๐ Ask them..
Good luck, thanx one and all for the comments

I do it online and they always inform me just before it must be done again. I travel abroad every year but I carry on as usual with the online report without ever having to go to immigration.....Excellent service.
No .I assume that all visa holdrs can do online..Take care when first filling out the online form..I had missed some small print when I first applied but discovered the error when it was refused first time.

We went to Koh Samui Immigration office to complete 90 day report, both on OX visas and they told us we do this at end of first year, not 90 days?
, as a rule, you need to do 90-day report and yearly qualification check. Follow the local immigration office's direction about the 09 days report (unless you are not going to move to another province). BUT be sure you (or IO) are not mixing those two, or no "lost-in-translation" misunderstandings.
we did follow what she said, this was in May 2023, and will see them in February 2024. She was adamant about this which is why we chose to report in person.
, just pointing out that what your office says does not apply to other offices as the basic rule is as mentioned in the in-country Non-OX application document issued by the Immigration Head Office.
The downside here is if you're told show up for a 12 month report and sometime between months 3 and 12 you move province you will probably get hit with the 2000B fine for not doing a 90 day report or would they honour the reporting slip stating 12 months?
, that's what we wouldn't know and you need to ask to the officer in the new province.
Also, that's why I wrote "(unless you are not going to move to another province) " in my previous comment.

OK noted, I was surprised but understand these things vary, in this beautiful country!

Best check with your local immigration there seems some confusion about this. I did my first 90 day at Patong immigration with the Non imm OX they stapled a paper in Passport saying notify Address again on 18.June 2024 ie 12 months. I asked if I still do 90 day answer NO come back on that date so seems some immigration.offices have different rules
hi Ellie. Just further on the Patong Immigration Office I include an image of the receipt from TM47 which they stapled in my passport. No mention of a 1 year qualification check. You might let me know what you think. Cheers Richard.
, honestly, I cannot say any about that. It could be read as you said. If it's me, I would go to check what is required for a 1-year qualification check, along with confirmation no need for 90 day report and only need a 1-year check-up, occasionally. Sometimes you have to do your first report in person then, when in the system, you can do subsequent reports online. It seems like you will need to do the first one in person.
