I applied for my letter from Chiang Mai US embassy this morning and received it within 2 hours of writing email. I then took it to Promenada immigration office in the afternoon and applied for a 30 day extension. They said that 99% of requests will be approved, the ones they will turn away have to do with an old invitation letter or incomplete paperwork. They were very helpful and assisted with filling out all the paperwork. I return on 17th to get final approval and hopefully will have my date to leave extended to Oct. 26. There are no guarantees but the staff at Promenada seemed quite positive on getting it approved.

I appreciate the advise, but I went to immigration office in Promenada and filed for extension and they said that I needed to return on 17-Sept to get final approval. They said 99% of applications will be approved as long as you have recent letter from embassy and all paperwork is in order. They were helpful and let me feeling very optimistic that it will be approved and will get 30 days beyond the Sept 26 end of amnesty. I will report back after 17th of Sept. for update.

I have full page visa sticker - b visa multiple entry expires on sept 22. I obtained in USA. I was unable to leave country the 2nd time I was required in April, so went on amnesty.

I received 30 days, so I assumed it was not under consideration. Then I read it more closely. Hopefully no problems.

Well I went to Cm immigration today and was given a 30 day stamp and do not have to check back until May 7. Perhaps I was given 30 days because I have a non-imm B visa.

I understand that based on previous comments, just wanted to make sure it was accepted by immigration. Tod, based on your previous discussion, you indicated that I could bounce out and come back still on my Non-imm B visa once things clear up. Robert says, I will now be under Tourist visa. Which is right?

Ok, Stamp does not expire until the 9th, so I think I will go in on the 6th of April. Do you think that gives enough time? If it does not get approved, then do I need to either overstay or take next flight out of Thailand?
