Amnesty post Nov 30 extension update. Went to promenade cm immigration. Amnesty extension processing location has now moved back to airport. Showed email from us embassy saying the will not issue letter and was able to get 30 day extension to Dec 30. They said 30 or 60 days is case by case, but didn’t see anyone getting 60 days.

TLDR : Answer Summary
After the amnesty for visa extensions ended, it was reported that the processing location for extensions has reverted to the airport. An individual was granted a 30-day extension to December 30 with documentation from the US embassy, although the duration may vary case by case. Observations in Chiang Mai indicated that most applicants received only a 30-day extension, leading to discussions about inconsistencies across Thailand's immigration offices regarding extension approvals.

Like you said earlier though, I can apply for another extension two weeks before this stamp ends?

@Bill ******
in theory, yep,they did not put any limit on the number of "unable to travel due to covid" extensions you could get after the last amnesty ran out on Oct 31.

@Bill ******
yep, no under consideration stamp that clearly says extension of stay permitted until. Dunno why C/M is only handing out 30 days (no matter what b/s reasoning they're parroting to people) :(

@Bill ******
did you get a 30 day extension of stay stamp OR did they give you a 30 day under consideration stamp?

@Bill ******
Are you also in CM, or elsewhere?

different immigration offices have different policies. They are given the freedom to do what's best in their region.
