yep, it doesn't look good. Plus they love their holidays and it's not really a good time.
How about a land border crossing at poipet? Probably not possible legally. But it could be cheaper to pay a fine flying out of Bangkok than rebuying an international plane ticket.
She has to go to the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh and apply for a new tourist visa. Check the requirements but I think it takes 48 hours and she will need stamped evidence of financial resources like a bank statement. A printout of bank statement is not enough, they love their stamps.
I also tried opening a bank account with a tourist visa a few months ago. I tried several banks including Bangkok Bank at two or three different locations. I thought showing a hundred thousand bath in cash would help but it didn't. No Lt visa no bank account. It was getting ridiculous
I'm a bit in the same situation. I'm over 50 as well and I'm currently in Thailand on a Visa exemption , just arrived overland today from Cambodia. I would like to set up residency in Thailand without having to fly back to Europe but I'm not quite sure where to start.
A few months ago I was in Bangkok for a couple of months and I tried to open the bank account. But it has been impossible because no bank including Bangkok bank accepted to open an account with a tourist visa.
I'd be grateful for any advice. I could transfer or even deposit the 800k to a bank if necessary.
I hope the owner is not a little old lady called Mod A.... Extremely difficult to deal with. We moved out of a house last year with the same characteristics.
