She has to go to the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh and apply for a new tourist visa. Check the requirements but I think it takes 48 hours and she will need stamped evidence of financial resources like a bank statement. A printout of bank statement is not enough, they love their stamps.

I also tried opening a bank account with a tourist visa a few months ago. I tried several banks including Bangkok Bank at two or three different locations. I thought showing a hundred thousand bath in cash would help but it didn't. No Lt visa no bank account. It was getting ridiculous

I'm a bit in the same situation. I'm over 50 as well and I'm currently in Thailand on a Visa exemption , just arrived overland today from Cambodia. I would like to set up residency in Thailand without having to fly back to Europe but I'm not quite sure where to start.

A few months ago I was in Bangkok for a couple of months and I tried to open the bank account. But it has been impossible because no bank including Bangkok bank accepted to open an account with a tourist visa.

I'd be grateful for any advice. I could transfer or even deposit the 800k to a bank if necessary.

I hope the owner is not a little old lady called Mod A.... Extremely difficult to deal with. We moved out of a house last year with the same characteristics.

Thank you guys I went to Laksi this morning I arrived at about 11:00 and it took altogether about 40-50 minutes, it was a breeze.

I hadn't prepared anything but the small shop next door provided me with pictures , copies and I asked the guy to fill in my form because he could do that faster than me. All good, not crowded at all.

in your judgemental eyes, very certainly. But at least I'm having fun every day. Whereas you and the other moron have probably forgotten what it's like, as you seem busy being constantly indignant.
