Do I need a retirement visa to buy a condo and open a bank account in Thailand?Answered

Hi, I’ve been told today that I can’t buy a condo unless I have a retirement visa because I can’t open a bank account without a retirement visa. Is this correct? Thanks in advance. Tamar
