For the initial Non O visa in country it’s has to be shown as an international transfer. If you enter on a Non O visa it’s normally sufficient to prove the funds in your account two months prior to your application for extension. If you want to change to the monthly income metode later it also has to be shown as an international transfer.

If you didn’t need any mandatory health insurance for the initial visa, you’ll don’t need it for the extension either. The requirements varies slightly between immigrations and it’s best to visit your immigration and get handed over their requirements before you apply. If you don’t have a affidavit letter regarding income the 800K baht has to be seasoned for two months prior to your first application. If you’re on your second year, you’ll need to prove twelve months consecutive transfers of minimum 65K baht if you want to change to the income method.

Quite odd, LTR is a ten year visa, and they often require minimum one year visa.

DTV is a tourist visa and generally not qualifying for opening a bank account.

Ok, that might be the case, seems strange that he’s got a Non O in country without a bank account in the first place.

My point is still the same. Even if you arrive with the initial Non O u still can struggle to open bank a account now. I was turned down in three branches myself In February with a Non O before I was allowed in the fourth. They demanded a house book or work permit or the first extension of stay done. Non O and residence certificate was not accepted.

You can apply for your extension minimum 30 days prior to expiration and do your 90 days report 15 days before and 7 days after due date, so it’s no issue to do both while you apply for your extension.

If you can show proof of minimum twelve months consecutive transfers of min 65K baht from abroad, you don’t need any funds in your account anymore for applying. You need a bank statement and a standard bank letter from your bank regarding this.

Seems to be a problem now. Even if you enter on a 90 days Non O several banks require the first year extension of stay done (minimum one year visa as they say) before they let you open a bank account which really set people in a catch22 situation.
