You probably won’t manage to get a bank account while you’re on your tourist visa without getting an agent to assist you. As a French citizen you can get a affidavit letter from your embassy in Bangkok regarding income if you fulfil the requirement of min 65K baht a month for your initial Non O visa and extension of stay. With a long stay visa you easily can open a bank account yourself with a residence certificate from your immigration.
Agree with Eric, just use a landborder transport company and they will bounce you and get you another 60 days visa exemption within some hours at a fair price.
Colin Huttley Could you please be a bit more specific. It should be quite straightforward if you’re passed 50 years and can fulfil the financial requirement.
The requirements are the same as in Thailand, but you can only apply and do your first year extension of stay based on funds (800K baht).
Yes, but you have to apply for a initial 90 days Non O visa first and then apply for a one year extension of stay. You’ll need at least 15-21 days left on your current stamp. Check with your immigration and get handed over their requirement list
Affidavit letter is accepted as proof of income if your embassy still issues it. It might need to get legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for your first extension, but this varies between immigrations.
If you still have a 90 days Non O multiple based on marriage, you can apply for the two months extension visiting Thai family or the one year extension of stay based on marriage. For the marriage extension the funds has to be seasoned for two months before you apply and I don’t think it matters as long as it’s an account in your name and the funds are instantly available if needed.
The visa is a one year Non O-A visa. Each time you enter within a year you’ll get stamped in for one year, also short time before the visa expires if you also update your health insurance for another year. Voila you’ll get two years in Thailand on a one year visa. Sorry but this basic knowledge mister. Same system for the six months multiple entries tourist visa which gives you up to nine months in Thailand. Learn your lesson mister or stay away with all your misinformation.
You’ve had extension of stays for five years based on a 90 days Non O visa and it has to be extended every twelve months. No disagreement so far.
BUT
If you apply for a one year Non O-A multiple entries visa at the Thai embassy of your country of origin. (Not a regular Non O visa). The one year multiple Non O-A Visa itself allows you to stay in Thailand for up to two years before you’ll need to apply for your first yearly 12 months extension of stay.
SO
Regular 90 days Non O visa gives you 90 days before you need to apply for your first 12 months yearly extension of stay.
A one year Non O-A visa from your embassy at home gives you up to two years before you’ll need to apply for your first yearly 12 months extension of stay.
IF
You don’t know or understand this I’m sorry but I can’t help you.
