Ah, then I met with a kind officer when I told him that was my purpose (which was true—I can’t lie!).

Why do you advise not to tell them about your girlfriend?

If you’re in Bangkok it will definitely be costlier than where I am, 3+ hours away. However, I have stayed in some decent places on the outskirts of the city that have a reasonable charge. I can’t recall the name of them but I could look them up if you’re interested in suggestions for lodging.

It depends on your lifestyle, I guess. I’ve been here all year and I manage on 1,000 baht or less per day on most days, excluding groceries day, when it might be closer to 2,000. My living accommodations run to about 200+ baht per day.

Should be 220 baht per transaction, + whatever fee your home bank charges.

Oh good, since I hope to go there before the year is over. I have 8 blank pages left, but they can go quickly here (my passport expires in 2+ yrs).

I have, but an officer at the immigration office where I received a 30-day extension said processing it will take 1 year. I have an Indian visa or I can try to go to Malaysia, which allows 3-month stays, and wait it out there.

$250,000 US, I think, if that’s the one I read about. 🧐
