TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether 1000 euros is sufficient for a few months of living in Thailand. Various comments suggest that it largely depends on your lifestyle and location. While some argue that living in less touristy areas could be manageable on this budget, others emphasize that 1000 euros might not cover accommodation and routine expenses like food and drinks, especially in popular tourist destinations. Overall, the consensus leans towards 1000 euros being on the low side for an extended stay.
First it was 2 weeks, but you then you asked about one month. Which is it?

This is exactly the kind of tourist Thailand is trying to avoid.

Thailand is a country, like any country, the cities in it have different price tags. In Bangkok or touristy beach towns you will struggle with that budget but in smaller cities, you might do fine. So figure out what city you want to live in first.

I have been in Bang Bo for 2.5 months now. I have rented a lovely condo for 6 months and the complex has a free swimming pool, a free gym and a free sauna. All for 4,800 a month. Plus electricity and water. Total last month including rent was 6,250 Baht.
There is a river a 10 minute walk from my condo where fishing is free, I love fishing .
My fishing rod and tackle bought at a local store for less than €25 .
There are 5 or 6 restaurants within 10 minutes walk of my condo and I can buy a lovely Thai meal for less than £2 at all of them.
I don't drink alcohol. I don't smoke and I eat mostly in my condo on salads . Because I like salad in hot weather.
I don't do bar girls either
Last month and the month before including rent and food I spent £415 in May and £425 in June ( <€500 )
Half way through July now and I will again be spending less than €500
My life is perfect. I ❤️ my life

I don't get this. I have been twice this year, two weeks at a time, back again September, excluding hotel I always end up spending around 8 to 10 thousand baht daily. How can one manage on just thousand Baht daily basis?
easily done these days and the strength of the thai baht adds to the misery. I remember going back to the late 1980’s when a thousand baht was a good sum of money. If you stay longer you will spend less but 5000 baht a day is rock bottom for me.
First time I visited Pattaya back in early February, went to a bar around 10pm, I was there till around 4am in the morning, my bar bill alone was nearly 5000 bath but I kept saying yes to every girl who wanted a drink. It was a good lesson for me.
your on holiday in a tourist area... I would bet in Pattaya or Phuket? Out these areas and not throwing money around 1000 a day is plenty after your rents paid.
I live 20km away and rarely go above 40k a month, even with dining out a couple of times a week and few beers most nights. Pattaya is a tourist area and your on holiday, just 'living' here and away from tourist hot-spots is a total different thing..
It depends on your lifestyle, I guess. I’ve been here all year and I manage on 1,000 baht or less per day on most days, excluding groceries day, when it might be closer to 2,000. My living accommodations run to about 200+ baht per day.
200+baht per day for accommodation is very cheap. I normally stay on Soi 15 Travelodge, it's nothing special but never less than 1000 baht per day. Maybe I have to start looking around more.
If you’re in Bangkok it will definitely be costlier than where I am, 3+ hours away. However, I have stayed in some decent places on the outskirts of the city that have a reasonable charge. I can’t recall the name of them but I could look them up if you’re interested in suggestions for lodging.
book places for a month, always cheaper.. A bedroom for 15k is easy.. 500 a day.

If that includes accommodation in your 1000 euros per month then no .if only spending on food ,drink etc you might just do it,but 2000 per month is decent budget

Euros will not work in Thailand. You will need Thai Baht. How many baht will depend on your lifestyle.
Wayne *******
No problem at all. Even if you use 200 for accommodation 800 a month (30 a day is do-able). Can live off that if you're just there to chill out
Gary ***********
If that is to include accommodation then I think you will struggle

That really depends how and where you want to live but wherever you choose 1000 euros won't cut it for a few months!
Ok you could do it on just over 1000 baht a day but that will be just living basic in cheap accommodation and eating local food but you will soon tire of that, again it depends where you are, The North (Issan) area is nice and more affordable.
