Yes. What i did in the past was take the doctors note to the immigration, paid extension and visa was in place as long as doctor prescribed. Never had an issue

Well, my friend is Married to a Thai woman and have three kids together. They have no criminal record and lots of money - they couldn't get the wife there. I know a doctor in USA who tried to bring his wife over - they said no...good luck bro
