In case your current Covid extension expires May 16 then you can get that extended to half July.

Bit more time to sort out your Smart ..

Yes, though if this person is outside Thailand I don't see how to get an extension outside Thailand. He can only then apply for a new visa.

If inside he can apply for 60day Covid but no visa

Its all about using the right terminology. What you been told is correct. Now lets see whats possible ..

Your medical "visa" .. you obtained it inside thailand? Via Immigration with a medical letter? Or via an agent (3month stamp +/-20.000tbh?

Or you obtained it outside Thailand to recieve medical treatment in Thailand?

If outside can not extend or switch.

If inside can convert and apply for 60 day " Extension of stay due to Covid". You be stamped first time from day of application .. 1900tbh

There are no Tourist Visas available inside Thailand, only this extension (for Tourists).

If you want a proper tourist visa sticker in your pasport you indeed have to apply outside Thailand as usual.

i know, seems you keep missing the point I am trying to make .. The opp states she applied for an extension and is stamped in till April 30! Thats 33 days from now .. how is that possible?
Astrid **********
@Benjamin *****
yep indeed. The thing I am wondering is how can she be extended already to April 30? That's 33 days from today ..

Hi, I am happy for you though I am trying to make sense of it all. As mentioned your first 30 days extra where not under Covid, they are the normal given tourist extension.

I am wondering how you received a 30 day extension today March 29 that brings you to April 30 which is 33 days days instead of 30, and then can also apply right-away for the Covid on top ..

And regarding 1st time Covid extension. In general the first 60 day Covid extension gets stamped from day of application not from day of current expiry date stamp ..

@Anastasiia *****
, it depends .. are you actually on a visa?

Like a 60day Tourist Visa, and you arrived after last November 2020?

Or you like to extend a year on your Non O-B-ED visa?

Or you like to receive another 60 day Covid extension?

This matters since for starters you have to go a different place in Bangkok .. and as people said you have to be at least registered in BKK also.

For certain visa types to extend you even have to show a rental contract and a lot of paperwork.

So with more details we might be able to answer your question.

Okidoki Jon. Then no need if you cross border again before the expiry date on the stamp you recieve(d) upon entry in Thailand.

@Jon *******
.. before you loose your track in the forest of comments above.

May we know on what kind of visa you be entering Thailand?

* 60day pre-payed Tourist, extendable in country with 30days

* no visa, but free exemption stamp on arrival. atm 45 days (15 Quarantine + the normal 30). extendable in country with 30days

* STV (special tourist visa) 90 days, extendable in country with 2x90days

The whatever time you get granted (30-60-90) always starts when you arrive and get stamped in.

Visa stickers have an expiry date. Which is 90 days from application granted. This date is printed on the visa and is the last date your visa is valid and you can enter Thailand or extend your stay incountry at immigration on that visa.

There is no such thing as 90 day reports for tourists. This is for Bussiness, Marriage or Retirement visas etc that have a validity of a year.

STV can not be converted nor extended after the 3x90 days are expired. You have to leave.
